Dewald earned his Level 3 Trainer certification after more than 2 years of committed work inside the Smith Horsemanship system, and he’s proven himself on every level that matters.

 

He’s trained multiple horses independently through the program, handled client horses responsibly, and consistently shown calm, effective problem-solving with the trickier ones. His theory and practical scores cleared the 80 percent requirement, and he’s completed his basic First Aid Course along with holding the necessary Code B license for transport.

Inside the team, Dewald naturally steps into a mentorship role. He assists students safely, teaches with patience and clarity, and brings a steady presence that people actually trust. That’s part of why he advanced into the instructional path and completed his Level 1 Instructor certification before moving up to Level 2.

​

With over 100 logged supervised teaching hours, he’s fully capable of running groundwork and riding lessons on his own, keeping students safe while making sure they actually understand what they’re doing. He passed his teaching assessment with more than 80 percent, which says a lot about the quality and consistency of how he communicates.
