This is a 12-day immersive colt starting program designed for people who are serious about learning how to start horses correctly from the ground up.
You’ll live on-site, work daily with real horses, and follow a structured, step-by-step system used at Smith Horsemanship to take horses from unhandled or green… to confidently started under saddle.
This is not a theory-based course.
This is hands-on, practical horsemanship.

WHAT THE 12 DAYS ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE:
Daily hands-on horse training and care
Structured theory in practice that supports what you do
Personal coaching and biblical mentorship
PRACTICAL SKILLS YOU’LL DEVELOP:
Catching and halter training unhandled horses
Establishing control, respect, and responsiveness on the ground
Understanding pressure, timing, and release
Reading horse behavior and body language in real time
Desensitising and preparing nervous or reactive horses
Saddling and preparing for the first ride
Introducing the first rides safely and correctly
You’ll go through 30+ structured exercises that form a complete foundation for starting horses.
