Smith Horsemanship Academy exists to provide high-level, practical horsemanship training in a structured, respectful environment.
This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all students and individuals on the premises. It is designed to maintain safety, respect, and a productive learning environment.
By accessing this website and/or participating in any Smith Horsemanship program, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.
1. General Conduct
All students and individuals are expected to:

Treat others with respect at all times

Follow all instructions given by instructors

Contribute to a focused, disciplined learning environment
The following will not be tolerated:

Foul or abusive language

Bullying in any form (verbal, physical, or online)

Disrespect toward instructors or other students

Violent or threatening behaviour

Use of mobile phones during training sessions unless permitted
2. Safety & Environment
Safety is a top priority.

No behaviour that puts people or horses at risk will be tolerated

No weapons are permitted on the premises

Drugs and illegal substances are strictly prohibited

Students must keep all facilities clean and in good condition

Any damage to property is unacceptable
3. Visitors
Visitors are only allowed by prior arrangement.
Unapproved visits are not permitted.
4. Accommodation & Boarding Rules

Students must remain on the premises unless given permission

Shared spaces must be used respectfully
-
No males are allowed in female rooms, and no females in male rooms

No sexual conduct or inappropriate behaviour is permitted on the premises
5. Dress Code
Students must present themselves in a clean, practical, and appropriate manner.
Requirements:

Suitable riding attire at all times

No shorts while riding
-
No open shoes
-
Long hair must be tied up during training

Clothing must not be offensive, revealing, or inappropriate
Recommended:

Long-sleeve shirts and hats for sun protection

Boots, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate gear
6. Kitchen & Living Responsibilities

Students are responsible for preparing their own meals

All dishes and shared spaces must be cleaned after use
7. Smoking, Alcohol & Substances

No alcohol is permitted on the premises

No individual may be under the influence of alcohol or any substance
-
Smoking/vaping is only allowed in designated areas
-
Drugs or illegal substances are strictly prohibited
8. Mobile Phones & Devices

Devices must not interfere with training
-
Instructors may require phones to be put away at any time
-
Students are responsible for their own devices
9. Internet Use
-
Wi-Fi is not provided for general use
-
Students must use their own data for personal browsing
-
Accessing or storing illegal, explicit, or violent content is strictly prohibited
Consequences of Misconduct
Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in:

Verbal or written warnings
-
Suspension from activities
-
Removal from accommodation
-
Dismissal from the Academy without refund
Serious violations, including violence, drugs, or threats to safety, may result in immediate removal and, where applicable, reporting to authorities.
